Marissa Luna is the reigning Miss University of Alabama (2023-2024). Luna, a sophomore, is a Birmingham native and is pursuing a major in Business. Her career goal is to become a country music singer/songwriter.
Luna’s Community Service Initiative is More than Meets the Eye and has three main objectives: educate others, encourage self-investment and change mindsets. In partnership with educational entities, Marissa works to educate students that not all disabilities are visible and to lead by example as she advocates not only for students with disabilities, but also for the multitude of opportunities connected with the Miss Alabama Organization.
Luna is a member of Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI) and has performed as the opening act for country music stars Maddie & Tae, performed with the Alabama Symphony, performed at the Alabama Music Hall of Fame in Muscle Shoals and performed as Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz at the Virginia Samford Theatre.
