The Miss UA Competition will see 16 contestants from all across the country compete for title in 2023. This year’s contestants hail from all across the country, from the East Coast (Georgia and North Carolina) to the West Coast (California) and from the norther border (Michigan) to the southern border (Texas).
At the end of the contestant meeting on Sept. 20, each contestant chose a Miss UA bag from the conference table at Alumni Hall, on the campus of UA. The randomly selected bag contained a number that would be the order in which the contestants will appear for the competition at The Bama Theatre.
We will introduce contestants 1-4 below.
Contestant #1 is Emilia Oblites from Novato, CA. Emilia is pursuing a major in Apparel and Textile and a minor in Art History. Her Community Service Initiative is “Serving Alabamians with Breast Cancer.”
Contestant #2 is Hannah Adams, from Birmingham, AL. Hannah is pursuing a major in Public Relations & Political Science. Her Community Service Initiative is “Hannah’s Hope: Finding a Cure for Pediatric Cancer.”
Contestant #3 is Mara Eva Cline, from Braselton, GA. Mara Eva is pursuing a major in Musical Theatre. Her Community Service Initiative is “Safe in the Sun – Melanoma Awareness and Prevention.”
Contestant #4 is Olivia Smith, from Birmingham, AL. Olivia is pursuing a major in News Media. Her Community Service Initiative is “The Adoption Option.”
This 2023 Miss University of Alabama Scholarship Program competition is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 7, 2023 at the Bama Theatre in downtown Tuscaloosa, AL at 7PM.
